About Chase Cottage...

Holiday cottage sleeping 4 - Bowland Bridge, Winster Valley

Formerly a barn, this tastefully converted cottage sits in the peaceful hamlet of Bowland Bridge in the beautiful Winster Valley. Although only a short drive from the honeypots of Bowness and Ambleside, you could hardly find a more tranquil spot, with lovely walks from the doorstep through the surrounding woods, hills and valleys. With excellent pubs within walking distance, including the excellent Hare and Hounds next door but one, you don’t need to go far if you don’t want to!

Children are welcome but please note that the cottage has 2 double beds. Sorry no pets and no smoking .

About the Area...

There is a wealth of things to do in the area.  The tourist centres of Bowness, Windermere and Ambleside are a short drive.  Local tourist attractions include the Lakeland Motor Museum, Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway, Holker Hall, the World of Beatrix Potter, Cartmel and its lovely racecourse, and the Grizedale Forest sculpture trails.  For walkers, there are pleasant walks from the door in the fields and woods of the Winster Valley, and the high fells are a short drive away.  Boating is available at nearby Fellfoot Park on Windermere, and there quiet lanes for cyclists to enjoy.  There are two excellent pubs within a short walk and two others slightly further away making the destination for a good walk.
