“Another lovely week at Chase Cottage and the first time we’ve visited at this time of year (September) – blackberries, sloes and damsons much in evidence. We never tire of walking up, down and around the beautiful Winster valley. It’s a lovely part of the world and the cottage is great.”
Thanks to Wendy and Hugh for allowing us to change our booking and ultimately for giving us a refund when we were unable to travel due to Covid restrictions. Being so easy to deal with really helped us through a difficult time. We have now finally stayed at the cottage and wow, what a gem in a quiet corner of Grasmere. We will certainly be returning….

This is a lovely cottage in a quiet location but with all the amenities of Grasmere a 10 minute walk away and not far from the main Windermere to Keswick road. The cottage is warm and comfortable and very well -equipped. There is also plenty of local information and maps, walks etc. Grasmere has many places to eat out and a Co-op that is open long hours. There are walks from the cottage and a very good bus service, so you can get by without a car.
